Construction Monitoring
Location: Salem, MAClient: Eastern Bank
Construction Cost: $7M
Completed: 2015
The Salem Point Apartments project was the largest development renovation project involving the rehabilitation of 77 family units owned by the North Shore Community Development Coalition (NSCDC). Serving the North Shore as the only regional community development organization, the NSCDC focuses on low-income and distressed neighborhoods and transforms them into safe and vibrant communities.
This renovation project encompassed 11 buildings throughout the Salem’s Point Neighborhood and included the rehabilitation of many kitchens and bathrooms, new roofs, all new windows and trim as well as masonry and EFIS repairs. In addition, new energy-efficient mechanical systems and new baseboard heat was added to 5 buildings. The most prominent piece of this project was the restoration of artwork created by local young artists twenty five years ago, the fragile state of these pieces required careful removal after which the collage was reproduced using weather resistant materials and replaced on the exterior of the buildings.
PM&C was proud to be part of this community project, providing bank monitoring services to Eastern Bank as well as the Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation.
